It’s good to break from the internet. I didn’t really believe people when they’d give this advice to burnt out users but it is the best advice.
I didn’t realize how toxic the internet had become for me until I completely walked away from voat. I was dumbfounded when a week or so had past and my mental state was clearer. I didn’t honestly believe viewing negative behavior on voat was having effect on me.
I try now to check and balance myself here. Not sign in for a day or two, completely leave the internet alone and focus on the things the internet was teaching me. I kept getting involved in subs about doing things but never ended up doing any of them. Free time from mindless internet time made me more productive.
