Maybe its really easy to navigate already and I'm missing something, but I think having a button that goes from an inbox reply to the source of the comment chain would be heplful.

That would be the "permalink" button which is really a context button. So there's no permalink button at all, really.

What I'd rather see is that the flipping page doesn't navigate to the context every time I reply. It's a fast way to lose new notifications.

Hey, finally another voice asking for this.

A workaround has been that "permalink" button, but it doesn't quite do the same thing reddit's "context" does.

I don't understand the permalink button....can you explain it to me?

When you click it from your inbox it will take you to that comment in the thread, with its parent comment if applicable. You can continue clicking that permalink button until you reach the top of the chain.
