Searching all the various gun forums online it is always interesting when a hunting guide with a lot of experience chimes in (see the JJ guy's story in the thread). I was toying with which load to use for black bear (heavy expanding bullet or hardcast) and from reading the various forums it seems with my 10mm I want to use a 180-200gr moderately expanding bullet to hunt them, probably a hot 200gr XTP or 180gr Federal Trophy Bonded.
I'm still planning on going on a black bear hunt later this year, I'll post results if I get anything. For the next few summer months I'll mostly be fishing for alligator gar.
