Looks cool. What advantages would it have over a regular shop vac? That would also be a bucket, but would use a filter and gravity to keep things down.

The one I can think of is that the floor vacuum's bag has more surface area than a shop vac filter and so may handle more flow at less power. But it's mostly the same thing. One just uses a larger filter that also fills up slowly.

Well, you could definitely get a cheaper vacuum. Notice that vacuum is NOT rated for water, but works fine with that attachment. It's also more about added capacity and less wear-and-tear on the vacuum, I think. More for less.
