Here's a thinker:

What if you tried not buying an expensive college tuition if your degree isn't going to get you a job that can realistically pay it off? Crazy, I know, but it's possible.

The problem is that 18-year-olds are going to college after being told they have to if they want a future worth living. We shouldn't even be thinking about college until we're well into our 20's, you don't know shit about the world around you at 18 to be able to make that sort of decision.

Inflation will eat away at their debt if they had any sense. $120k in a few decades time will be worth significantly less. Where I live the minimum wage is already $36.8k ($17.70) NZD at the least. Just in the late 80's/early 90's, $40k could have purchased you a home.

I left 5 years of undergrad from a state school with a great engineering program with no debt. My tuition was like 4500/year which I could pay with my min wage lab job. You don't need a $120k art degree from a shit school

This seems like it's a bit low. Almost every young person I speak to thinks debt is just a creation of the man designed to keep them down and sometimes I find it hard to disagree with them. Much of the deficit and debt owed by countries for example is because of criminal interest rates.
