My wife and I believe each other make grilled cheese sandwiches incorrectly. I only toast the outsides of the sandwich while she toasts both sides of the bread before melting the cheese between them. So what do y'all think is the better way?

Butter both sides of both slices bread. Make a cheese sandwich. Put it in a frying pan until one side is toasted, then flip it over and toast the other side.

I would add only to use some smoked cheddar, in combination with Velveeta.

I lay out each slice of buttered bread in a cast iron skillet, then put the cheese on top of each slice, toast until done, combine and eat.

It's faster that way.

Or let your wife make it for you, and not complain about how it's done :)

Well our youngest child proceeded to pull the sandwich apart after my wife made it and that doesn't happen when I make them.

I put mayo on the inside. Butter on the outside. Cover the pan with a tad bit of water to steam.

I toast one side of each slice of bread, then flip one over, pile the cheese on, and put the other slice untested side down. Your way isn't bad, but your wife is smarter than you in this matter.
